I’m developing a way of playing using instant composition to make juxtapositions of sounds.
Ingredients:
A tonal palette enriched with ambiguity, using microtones for a relative multitonal experience;
A dynamic melodic articulation, a static one, and an hybrid one, featuring motion/rest at the same time;
Time is a collage of continuously renegotiated tempos, characterized by simultaneous layers, true or apparent, through multiple sounds and sudden speed changes. The music is built through melodic associations, looking for links connecting heterogeneous elements, and using noises and concrete sounds to make melody. The timbre wants to be ambiguous and relative too. I choose a sober but raw saxophone sound, dirty of harmonics. The silence is for me a timbre. As such it is used without counterchecks to create, destroy and transform melodic materials and meanings immersing them in time.

The Italo-Japanese, Berlin based, duo TATSEMME! (Tatsumi Ryusui – Emme!) plays radical improvisation with guitar, kalimbas, amplified homemade instruments and a prepared snare drum (or prepared floor tom). Tatsemme! is interested in sounds, noises, silences. It creates soundscapes where different elements meet or clash each other.

Call for submission for an ANIMATION FESTIVAL
“Shoooow!!! Your Short Animation!!!”
We are putting together a night of short animations ranging from stop-motion through to live anima- tion.
We are interested in any animation from 5 second clips through to 10 minuet movies.
We wish to create a diverse flow of works, which will run for around 4-5 hours showcasing a “patchwork quilt” of movies.
We are interested in seeing unfinished, forgotten, in progress, finished and known works in a bid to showcase a cross section of subject matter, approach, vision and realization.
This is a great opportunity to have your work seen by a very mixed audience and to help us develop an interesting and engaging film experience.
To submit simply send a quicktime (PAL please) until 7. November 2011 18:00h with a copy of the submissions form filled out in full to the following email address : animationfestival@shoxxxboxxx.com
All artists showcased will be listed in our promotional material and with permission submitted films will be included in a promotional DVD, which will be on sale at the event.
